Vice-Chair Of Governors, Parent Governor

Hi my name is Liz, I live in Ellistown with my husband and my two children attend Ellistown Primary School. 

I spent over 15 years working in private day nurseries, I have also worked in admin and most recently I have enjoyed being a stay-at-home parent. This has given me an insight and understanding of many areas within childcare and education. My views changed in many ways once I became a parent myself and I believe having both aspects have really helped in my role as parent governor. My passion is children’s well-being and that opportunities are available to all with the correct support. 

I love spending time in the classrooms at Ellistown Primary and I volunteer on a Thursday morning in the Buzzy Bee Class.  It is a great opportunity to see the insights of the school and especially the passion from all the staff to give the children their very best start in life. If you have an opportunity on open days or at any time to pop into your child’s classroom, I encourage you to do so! 

Within my governing role I am proud to help support the school, pupils and staff but also challenge decisions made to ensure that outcomes are achievable and relevant.
