Cross Country at Hugglescote Primary School

North West Leicestershire Cross Country
A North West Leicestershire Schools’ cross country event will be held at

Measham Cof E on Saturday 9th February 

Children accumulate points depending on their place finish in the NW Leicestershire races. A child who finishes 1st will collect 1 point; 2nd place will collect 2 points etc. If a child misses a race he/she will collect the equivalent position of the last place +1.
At the end of the season, each child’s best three scores will be counted (from the four planned events). This allows them to drop a result or a missed race without being penalised. The children’s best three finishing positions will be added together from all the races and the lowest cumulative score will win.
The top 3 children in each year group will be awarded an individual medal at the end of the season and there are team trophies for the teams with the lowest total over the season. For the Team award, the 3 lowest scoring children from each school will be counted as the team and the team with the lowest score will be declared the winners. The league also serves as selection for the NW Leicestershire team (KS2 only) to enter the County Cross Country race later this year.

11:20 Year 6 Girls       11:30 Year 6 Boys
Races will start on time so please make sure that your runners are at the start line in good time!

Refreshments will be on sale on the day. Limited parking will be available on the school site; other parking will be available on local streets.

In the event of adverse weather, a field inspection will take place on the Friday lunchtime and schools which have confirmed their attendance will be contacted.
