Year 2 Trip To Conkers

On Thursday 25th June 2026, Year 2 pupils will be visiting Conkers Discovery Centre. The trip  has been planned to enrich the children’s learning in our Science units on Minibeasts and Plants. During the day, pupils will take part in two hands‑on workshops—Brilliant Bugs and The Secret Life of Seeds—which will allow them to explore living things up close and deepen their understanding through real‑life investigation. They will also enjoy a visit to the 4D cinema. As much of the day will be spent outdoors, children should wear their usual school uniform tops along with comfortable bottoms and shoes that can get muddy or dirty, and should bring appropriate protection for the weather (e.g. sun hat, sun cream or raincoats depending on the forecast!)

Children will travel to and from Conkers by coach, leaving school at 9:15am and returning to school before the end of the school day. Full school uniform must be worn. ALL children will need a packed lunch and a drink. If your child receives Free School Meals and you would like the school to provide a basic packed lunch, please speak to the school office by Monday 14th June 2026.

This trip will cost £20.00 which is available to pay in the trips section of your Arbor app by Thursday 22nd May 2026.

Insurance, payments & other charges - £25.00

Subsidised by FEPs - £50.00

In agreement with the governing board, we have made the decision to run trips in a different way this school year. We will still be offering the same trips but will not be advertising our day trips to the children and instead will send letters directly to parents via Arbor.

Trips will not be booked until all payments have been made and will not go ahead if all payments have not been received. Day trips will continue to be free for children on our Pupil Premium Register.
